Description
Disialoganglioside GD3 Monoclonal Antibody (MB3.6), eBioscience?. Disialoganglioside GD3 is a membrane-bound sialic acid-containing glycosphingolipid. Gangliosides are synthesized in the Golgi apparatus by glycosyltransferases before localizing to the plasma membrane. Gangliosides function as receptors for growth factors and hormones as well as mediating interaction with adhesion molecules at the surface of all cells. GD3 is expressed at low levels in retina pigment cells and melanocytes. Elevated GD3 levels are found in neural stem cells, epithelial-origin tumor cells (cervical, ovarian, prostate, breast, and skin), as well as T-cell leukemic lymphoblasts (T-ALL).
