Description
NF-L / NEFL Antibody (clone DA2) LS-C188586. Recognizes neurofilament L (NF-L), the most abundant of the three nurofilament proteins (NF-H, NF-M and NF-L). Neurofilaments are 10nm or intermediate filaments found specifically in neurons, with especially high concentrations along the axons, where they appear to control axonal diameter. Defects in NF-L are the cause of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease types 1F and 2E, characterized by loss of muscle tissue and touch sensation.
