DPH3P1 may represent a processed pseudogene of DPH3 because it lacks the exon/intron structure found in the functional gene. However, it does contain an intact open reading frame and it has not been established that the predicted protein is not translated. Recombinant human DPH3P1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
