Activities of INF-g are initiated by binding to species-specific cell surface receptors.INF-g binds INF with high affinity. CD119 belongs to the cytokine type-2 receptor family.is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, T and B cells, NK cells, neutrophils, fibroblasts, epithelial cells and a wide range of tumor cells. The CD119 receptor plays a role in host defense and immunological processes and a role in macrophage activation, B and T cell differentiation, activation of NK cells and up-regulating the expression of MHC class I and II antigens in several cellular types.
