Description
Anti-BACE1 (CO2 terminus). Beta-secretase 1 (BACE1) is a novel membrane bound aspartyl protease that cleaves the β-amyloid precursor protein (βAPP) to generate the N-terminus of the Aβ domain. The membrane bound C-terminal fragment generated by the beta secretase cut is subsequently cleaved by the gamma secretase, resulting in the generation and secretion of the Aβ. The amyloidogenic peptide Aβ is a major factor in the etiology of Alzheimer’s disease.
Immunogen
B690 was raised against a peptide sequence CLRQQHDDFADDISLLK , the C-terminal 17 amino acids of the human BACE1 and recognizes the mature and immature forms of BACE.
