Description
Rabbit Anti-Human LOXL2 polyclonal antibody for WB, IHC. Lysyl oxidase homolog 2 (EC1.4.3.13; also known as Lysyl oxidase-like protein 2, Lysyl oxidase-related protein 2, or Lysyl oxidase-related protein WS9-14) is encoded by the LOXL2 gene (also known as LOR2 or WS9-14) in human. LOXL2 protein catalyzes oxidative deamination of target lysine residues to allysine. Secreted LOXL2 protein mediates cross-linking of extracellular matrix proteins by targeting lysine residues in fibrous collagen and elastin in precursors. It is also found in the nucleus where it acts as a transcription corepressor by targeting trimethylated histone H3 Lys3 (H3K4me3). Its involvement in other biological processes inclucdes epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and repression of E-cadherin expression.
