Amyloid beta (A4) Precursor Protein (APP) (AA 17-24) peptide
Description
This synthetic peptide consists of amino acids 17 to 24 of beta amyloid protein. Evidence suggests that the region around amino acid residue 17 to 20 is important for the formation of beta amyloid fibrils. Both fibril formation and the conversion of alpha helices to beta sheets are critically dependent on the destabilization of the helices found on amino acid residues 11 to 24, particularly those found on 17 to 24.
