ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot. Anti-IPO-38 is suitable for ELISA, immunoprecipitation, western blotting and immunohistochemistry (frozen and formalin/paraffin). The antibody is reported to recognize a nuclear antigen that is present in the cytoplasm and nuclei of proliferating cells (paraformaldehyde fixed, Triton X-100 permeabilized). An increase of 400% is observed in cells in mitosis (determined by analysis of K562 cells synchronized with colcemide). IPO-38 does not block the binding of the Ki-67 antibody. Tonsilar tissue is typically used as a positive control.

Description
Anti-IPO-38 protein A purified mouse monoclonal antibody reacts with a 14 -16 kDa protein as demonstrated by western blot analysis on the Raji cell line. This antigen was detected after 12 h of PHA-induced activation in the early G1 phase but absent in non-stimulated lymphocytes. Cross reactivity is likely to occur with mouse and rat. Reactivity with other sources has not been determined.
