A secreted peptide Pep27 contains one potential N-glycosylation site in the case of BRSV and two to three N-glycosylation motifs in the case of HRSV. Pep27 initiates the cell death program in S. pneumoniae through signal transduction. Electron microscopy revealed that Pep27 induced apoptosis in Jurkat cells.
