NGAL is a biomarker of kidney tubular damage in certain mammalian models. In mouse, NGAL undergoes an early and dramatic upregulation in kidney cells either after infection or post-ischemic or nephrotoxic injury. The NGAL (mouse) ELISA Kit is a sandwich assay that can be used to measure NGAL in mouse urine, plasma, serum, tissue extracts, or culture media samples. The assay exhibits intra-assay %CV values of <6% with sensitivity sufficient to detect levels of NGAL as low as 0.75 pg/ml.
