Apoptosis is associated with the fragmentation of chromosomal DNA into multiples of the 180 bp nucleosomal unit, known as DNA laddering. This kit is designed to maximize extraction of small fragments of DNA with minimal contamination from intact chromatin. The isolated DNA is separated by electrophoresis and can be visualized using ethidium bromide.
