Human FSH is a glycoprotein produced from urine of post-menopausal women and having a total molecular mass of 35,500 Dalton. hFSH is a heterodimeric hormone consisting of 165 amino acids chain (non-active) and 115 amino acids chain (active). hFSH induces maturation of Graafian follicles of the ovary, promotes development of germinal cells in males and activates cytosolic tyrosine kinase.
